The PIONEER Series 2025 is a six-session training program co-hosted by Eagle IP Limited, the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (TEC), the HKU Faculty of Science, and the Technology Commercialization Society (TCS).

Designed by seasoned patent attorneys from a top-tier IP firm, this series provides HKU students and postdoctoral researchers with practical training in patent drafting, evaluation, and commercialization. It offers an insider’s perspective on how to understand, protect, and strategically leverage intellectual property as a key asset in technology-driven ventures.

Participants who attend at least 5 of the 6 sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion and enjoy priority access to future commercialization training and project opportunities!

PIONNER Series

The SPARK Program is a five-session hands-on training program co-hosted by the Technology Commercialization Society (TCS) HKU and the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (TEC).

Designed and led by Dr. Rocky Law, an expert with over 20 years of experience in technology transfer and entrepreneurship, this program provides HKU students, founders, and innovators with practical training in transforming ideas and technologies into real, viable startups. Grounded in real-world cases, participants learn to apply proven startup-building frameworks directly to their own ideas.

By the end of the program, participants will walk away with a professional business plan and an investor-ready pitch deck for their startup idea.

Outstanding teams will be nominated by HKU for major startup competitions or fast-tracked into the SEED Program, unlocking deeper ecosystem support through HKU TEC and its partners. Graduates also join the SPARK Alumni Network, gaining lifelong access to advanced workshops (including the PIONEER Series), exclusive networking events, and continuous industry mentorship via TCS.
